Brief

Varadin Bridge is centred between apartment buildings in Novi Sad; Serbia and very close to Danube river. The road that separates the river from the open space is pretty busy and creating environmental issues.
The space around the bridge is large and currently not showing its maximum capacity.

SOLUTION:

Solution is to create a green space that is very well connected to the buildings, roads and existing sidewalks.
The ideal solution has a sitting area and a rich combination of evergreen and deciduous trees that will make the whole area remain green even through winter. Perennials will add an amazing smell and various colours to the square in spring and summer.
Next to Danube river is a sitting area with a beautiful view and boat rides available for entertainment.
Closing down some of the less busy roads and slowing down existing traffic will help reduce gas emission and clear dust around the apartment buildings.
